TWO men have been arrested after the discovery of more than 200 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of £100,000, at two addresses – including one property in Selston.
Officers raided a house on St Michael’s View in Selston and recovered cannabis following an earlier search of a property in Huthwaite near Sutton-in-Ashfield where a total of 207 plants were being cultivated.
A 39-year-man and a 31-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday and Saturday respectively on suspicion of production of cannabis and possession with intent to supply. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Ashfield Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, Carl Holland, said: “This seizure of what is a significant quantity of cannabis illustrates the value of the information we receive from within the community, which demonstrates the strength of the relationship between our neighbourhood policing teams and local residents.
“We regard that as a positive development and reflects the growing confidence within the community that the police will act decisively on information that is passed to us.”
