Brewery worker stole booze

A worker has been given a suspended sentence for stealing Jägermeister from his employer.

Alan Kirkman, 51, of Old Coppice Side, Heanor, admitted stealing a number of boxes from Greene King Brewery, Eastwood, on October 4 last year.

Magistrates in Nottingham gave him a 90-day prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

The court heard that he was already subject to a community order and had previous convictions for theft from an employer.

Kirkman will be supervised by the probation service for 12 months. He must do 180 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 compensation, a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £300.
