A CONMAN, whose cover was blown by an Ilkeston man, has been forced to pay back more than £66,000.

Paul Slack, 32, was jailed for two-and-a-half years in July for his part in a criminal gang of 10 which defrauded investors in 43 countries.

In March 2009 an Ilkeston man told police he had been the victim of a ‘boiler room’ fraud by a company claiming to be Milton Hayward in Japan after losing thousands of pounds to the fraudsters.

The cash, which will be paid as compensation to 24 of the victims, was confiscated from Slack at a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act on Wednesday.
