POLICE recorded a 13 per cent reduction in crime in the first month of the financial year new figures have shown.
Nottinghamshire Police Authority said the force recorded 6,964 offences in April which was 13 per cent fewer crimes when compared with April last year.
In the Broxtowe borough crime fell overall by nine-and-a-half per cent.
The biggest reduction was in domestic violence, which has seen a 54 per cent reduction in reported incidents.
Robbery has reduced by 36 per cent and vehicle crime 31 per cent, but violence has increased by 17 per cent.
County-wide, crimes reduced across every category, with the biggest reduction being again in domestic violence.
