Drinker glassed in face

A pub goer was left with a broken nose and needed 12 stitches after being glassed in the face at the Charter pub in the early hours of Saturday.

Police say the 30-year-old man was the victim of an unprovoked attack in the South Street pub at about 1am.

Another drinker smashed a bottle into the face of the man who was treated for head and facial injuries at the Queen’s Medical Centre.

The victim could not offer a description of his attacker as he tried to defend himself.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who saw the attack or has any information can call investigating officers on 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
