Manhunt after prisoner from Ilkeston goes on the run from open prison

Howard Parkin, of Ilkeston, is on the run from Sudbury prison.

A prisoner, convicted of firearm offences, is on the run from Sudbury jail.

Howard Parkin, whose last address was in Ilkeston, absconded on Sunday.

Police are advising residents not to approach him but to contact their local force if they spot him.

He was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on March 18 last year to five years in jail.

He is 46-years-old, 6ft tall, has short, mousy, straight hair and green eyes and speaks with a Midlands accent
