A Mansfield Woodhouse man has been charged in conection with a series of armed robberies in Mansfield.

Jamie Richard Lakin, 39, of Gladstone Street, was charged with robbery yesterday (1 August).

He is accused after incients at One Stop Shop, Birding Street on 8 July, Sainsbury’s in Westfield Lane, on 12 July, Leeming Lane Service Station in Leeming Lane South on 20 July and Ladbrokes, Ladybrook Lane, on 24 July 2015.

This comes after an appeal from Nottinghamshire Police, in which they offered a £1,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest.

A 42-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the robberies but has been released on bail pending further investigation.

Lakin will remain in prison until he appears in Mansfield Magistrates’ tomorrow (3 August).
