Thanks to the Eastwood Advertiser, you have made motorists aware of problems caused by parking on pavements.
My husband has become disabled and has to rely on his mobility scooter to get around.
Motorists make it very difficult for him to be independent - parking on pavements and by dropped kerbs. It makes it dangerous for him to get past.
One of the worst places is Newdigate Street in Kimberley. We had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for a car to move from the pavement outside of the post office to get past, it’s a busy and narrow road.
Whoever had left their car was not in the post office or charity shop in that area as I looked for them. The car had been left with orange flashing lights on. I asked my husband to wait as I felt it was dangerous to go past on the road on his scooter.
It does not take many momnets to drop someone off who may be disabled at the barber’s, as I have to do myself.
Motorists should be aware of the dangers they add to disabled people’s lives.
