A piece of artwork painted by Rolf Harris during a trip to a school in Nuthall will form part of a 40th anniversary celebration.
Rolf Harris visited Hempshill Primary School back in 1979 as part of a tv series, called ‘Rolf on Saturday, OK?’ and the school plans to display the picture for the milestone anniversary on February 26.
A film crew came up to the school along with the pop group Brotherhood of Man, and filming was also done for the new show.
School headteacher Helen Ridge was a newly qualified teacher at the time of the visit and said Rolf was ‘wonderful with the children’ during his visit.
Marcia Puckey, who was headteacher at the time in the 70s, will attend the celebrations next week, along with past pupils of the school.
The painting portrays a young Fijian girl.
