A woman was rescued from her car by the fire service after she was involved in an accident in Giltbrook over the weekend.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue were called to the crash on Ikea Way in Giltbrook on Sunday at 12.20pm and cut the woman from her car.

Two cars had collided on the road and the fire service from Stockhill Fire Station were in attendance until 1pm.

Police are warning drivers to be more vigilant after a spike in car accidents, especially at this time of the year when the roads are icy and the dark mornings and evenings make it more difficult to see.
