Two drug dealers who were caught with wraps of cocaine have been jailed for a combined total of more than eight years.
Liam Bailey was spotted acting suspiciously by vigilant door staff in the Regal nightclub in Ripley, and was subsequently searched.
He was found to have a large amount of money and several wraps of the class A drug cocaine.
The 33-year-old was arrested and bailed for that offence in June last year but, just a few weeks later, his car was stopped in Alfreton Road, Codnor. He was found with six wraps of cocaine and another pile of money.
In February of this year, Aaron Woodward was seen by police getting into a Volkswagen Golf in a car park off Church Street, Ripley.
A search of the 23-year-old and the Golf revealed just under an ounce of cocaine. Further cocaine and dealing equipment was found during a later search at his house, in Milward Road, Loscoe.
And fingerprints lifted from the cocaine found in Woodward’s car were a positive match for Bailey, who was then arrested again and remanded in custody.
Bailey was charged with three counts of possessing cocaine with intent to supply, supplying cocaine, supplying cannabis, and supplying amphetamines.
Woodward was charged with one count of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and one count of supplying cocaine.
Both men pleaded guilty at Derby Crown Court and were sentenced on August 5. Woodward was jailed for three years, while Bailey, of Grange View, Eastwood, was locked up for a total of five years and four months.
