THE Eastwood Arts Festival will host its two main events on Coronation Park this weekend.
The popular family fun day and the Vibe music event will both take place at the park tomorrow, Saturday, July 16.
The family fun day will be on between 2pm and 4pm and will include The amazing Lobster a la Carte show, The Hoodwink Theatre Company’s hilarious Leap of Faith show and Turbo Jonez, who will take visitors on a musical journey through the most dangerous and heinous tracks of recent years.
There will be African and South Asian arts workshops, circus skills, sports challenges, dance workshops and talent scouts will be encouraging people to take to the stage for a sing-song or to tell their best jokes.
Following on from that, the Vibe event will offer youngsters an exciting programme of live music, street dance, urban arts and sports challenges between 6pm and 9pm.
Highlights of the event, which is enjoyed by hundreds every year, include a live music stage to showcase the work of talented, local young people who will perform alongside a host of professional musicians.
The best in local talent will take to the stage alongside Delinquent featuring Kcat, DJ Vimto featuring Jah Digga & 2tone, Cherry, MV3, Razor and Reya Sunshine.
The event will feature four main ‘zoned’ areas including a music zone where people can enjoy the live acts, a creative zone where you can try your hand at making corsages and hair pieces from recycled fabrics and try your hand at T-shirt and accessory design, a sports zone where there will be BMX and KMX workshops and a climbing wall and a dance zone where workshops will be held by local dance groups.
