£3 million worth of cannabis found in Jacksdale
A MAN who appeared in court after £3 million worth of cannabis plants were found in Jacksdale has been held in custody until his next hearing.
48-year-old Thang Nguyen, believed to be from Vietnam, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court last Friday charged with the production of cannabis.
Police recovered the drugs in a disused chicken factory on Barrowhills Lane last Wednesday, August 6. Seven men were arrested on suspicion of cultivating the drug during the raid.
Hydroponics and other drug making paraphernalia, including 250,000 worth of electrical equipment, were disconnected and seized.
Chief Inspector Mark Wakeland said: "We have confiscated approximately 3000 cannabis plants - an incredible result thanks to information passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers."
Four Nottingham men, aged between 25 and 28, a 34-year-old Hucknall man and a 20-year-old foreign national were interviewed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
