450 kids do activities

More than 450 youngsters took part in weekly activities at Aldercar Community College during the summer holidays.

Seven and 15 were offered the chance to take part in arts and crafts as well as sports such as football, cricket, rounders, dodgeball and volley ball.

The aim of the sessions was to help reduce nuisance behaviour and prevent youngsters from becoming involved with anti-social behaviour or crime.

PCSO Jenny Lorimer of Langley Mill Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are now in our fourth year of running these activities and every year we continue to see more and more young people coming along.”
