A new Lord Lieutenant

Civic Leaders from Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils are sending their best wishes to Sir John Peace in his new role as Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire .

A service of celebration and commitment for Sir John, the official representative of HM The Queen in Nottinghamshire, is taking place at Southwell Minster tomorrow, Saturday October 6.

The event is expected to be attended by civic leaders from across Nottinghamshire, who will officially welcome Sir John into his new role.

Sir John, who lives near Newark, is well known throughout the city and county for his work in supporting of local businesses, promoting economic development in his role as East Midlands ambassador for Business in the Community.

He is Chairman of Experian, which has its headquarters in Nottingham and was one of the founders and current Chairman of Nottingham Economic Resilience Forum which is helping the area to weather the recession and promote the city.

He is also a member of the Invest in Nottingham Club and has recently launched the Working for Youth Project, aimed at creating jobs for young people.
