A taste of China

This year is the year of the snake and families across Broxtowe are being invited to experience a ‘Taste of China’ in preparation for Chinese New Year on February 10.

Local artist Ling Peng will host two two-hour Chinese themed music, storytelling and arts workshops and Dragon Dancing at the Town Hall, Foster Avenue, Beeston on Saturday January 26 at 10.30am and 2.00pm.

The workshops will be held in preparation for Chinese New Year celebrations taking place in Beeston on Saturday February 9, including a Lantern Trail and Cultural Day.

The event is run in partnership between Broxtowe Borough Council and the Beeston BID.

Booking is essential for each session.

Each session costs £3 per person, or £2.50 for Leisure Card holders. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Snake is the sixth sign in the Chinese zodiac and symbolises wisdom, caution and romance.
