The DH Lawrence Centre will be celebrating English Tourism Week later this month with Victorian tours.

The programme of events includes themed tours of the Lawrence Birthplace Museum in Victoria Street, on March 16, 17, 23 and 24, all starting at 1.30pm.

The tours will welcome families to dress like a Victorian, decorate the museum by making their own flags and bunting, as well as taking the opportunity to meet Queen Victoria herself.

Afterwards, families will be invited to visit the Lawrence Heritage Centre in Mansfield Road where they will be able to make their own Queen Victoria peg doll to take home.

The centre and the museum are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 4pm.

The newly opened DH Lawrence Bistro is also open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am.

For more information please contact the centre on 01773 717 353, email culture@broxtowe.gov.uk or visit www.dhlawrenceheritage.org.
