Children win competition to name gritter

Kids in Kimberley were treated to a visit from a gritter lorry after winning a competition to name the new vehicle.
Nottinghamshire County Council challenged four schools to come up with a name for its new gritter lorry, and children at Gilthill Primary School won with the name ‘Freddy Salted’. Head of highways Richard Jackson said the name was ‘brilliant’.
