Christmas cash from Asda
Asda community colleague Sharon Allsopp and Langley Mill Parish Council chairman Cllr Anne White.
Asda in Langley Mill has donated £2,000 towards the cost of Aldercar and Langley Mill Parish Council’s 2011 Christmas lights.
Clerk Sheena Trower said: “We’ve got a great relationship with Asda and the colleagues there are a real community-spirited bunch.”
Asda Langley Mill general store manager Lyndsey Newmarch added: “It’s important for us to be truly active in our local community here, and what better time of the year to do it than the festive season, which traditionally brings people together.”
The store will also be raising money throughout December as part of Text Santa, a new initiative which aims to raise money for those most vulnerable during the festive period, mainly via text donation.
