Consortium will run centre

The Sure Start Children Centre in Eastwood will now be run by three organisations in a joint venture.

Nottinghamshire County Council has selected North Nottinghamshire College, Nottinghamshire Health Trust and Family Action to run its 58 children’s centres across the county.

A partnership board will meet regularly to ensure standards are met.

The plans followsa year-long re-commissioning exercise of the council’s children’s centres.

Previously, two thirds of the centres were already managed by external bodies. But families wanted consistency.
