County scouts fun day success

SCOUTS from Kimberley, Nuthall, Greasley and Brinsley joined 1,300 others from all over the county at a special event at the National Watersports Centre on Saturday July 17.

The one-day event gave the scouts a chance to try out 40 different activities.

Kayaking, dragon boating, raft building, knee boarding, sailing and power boating were just some of the activities on offer.

Kathryn Wills, head of Nottinghamshire Scouts said, "Seeing the Scouts having such fun and trying so many new activities is truly wonderful.

"Scouting is all about enabling young people to enrich their lives and those of people around them and this activity has certainly done that."
