County Police Authority is improving

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE'S Police Authority has been praised by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and the Police Performance Steering Group (PPSG).

At the latest PPSG meeting in London, Jon Collins, chairman of the Police Authority, and Alan Given, the authority's Change Manager, presented a report on the progress that has been made by the authority since a review called for improvements in the performance of both the Police Authority and the Police Force.

After the meeting, Mr Given said: "HMIC was heartened to see firm evidence of the progress that has been made in such a short space of time. Nottinghamshire has definitely come a long way very quickly.

"We know that there is more work to be done which is why HMIC will continue to monitor our progress

"We are pleased to receive official recognition of the improvements we've made and welcome HMIC's ongoing support."
