Crack down on alcohol related crime

Police tape

Nottinghamshire Police are re-examining licensing laws to try and stop alcohol fuelled crime.

Cops say the worst incidents occur outside pubs, shops and off licences over the weekend and have now called for a report to be carried out on the county’s licensing process to identify better ways of working with partners to reduce alcohol-related crime.

It comes as the Government prepares to introduce a new late night levy which will charge late night licensees, making them help pay towards policing the night-time economy.
