Crime figures lowest in a decade

The number of crimes across the county throughout September was the lowest in over a decade.

There were 5,396 crimes reported - the lowest number in one single month since more than ten years ago, and 1,000 less crimes than reported during September 2011.

Figures recently released also show that crime in Nottinghamshire reduced by ten per cent throughout the course of the year.

The statistics also show the county’s crime rate is now below the national average for the first time in 37 years.
