Crime figures down again

THE number of burglaries and robberies happening in Broxtowe borough have dramatically reduced over the last ten months.

Recent crime figures show that from April last year to January this year, when compared with the same period the previous year, burglaries reduced by 18 per cent and robberies reduced by 16 per cent.

The crime figures also show criminal damage has reduced by 12 per cent, car crime by four per cent and violent crime by three per sent.

Police put the figures down to high-visibility policing, working in partnership with local councils, covert operations, CCTV surveillance and project work in the community.
