Five hurt in crashes
Five people were injured in three separate car crashes on the same day.
A casualty was airlifted to hospital after a smash between an LGV and a car on the A632 at Upper Langwith just before 3pm on Thursday.
One person was trapped and had to be released from the vehicle by firefighters using hydraulic cutting gear before being flown to Queen's Medical Centre by Helimed.
Two other casualties were also seen to by the ambulance service.
In a later incident, a motorist suffered a suspected broken ankle when he crashed his Citroen Saxo into a wall by The Pavilion at Matlock Bath just before 11pm.
The male driver had to be cut free from the vehicle by Matlock firefighters before being taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The A6 was closed between Cromford lights and South Parade, and the scene was cleared by 12.45am.
Earlier in the evening, a driver suffered a back injury when hisPeugeot 406 was collision with a Toyota Prius on the A619 at Barlborough around 8.30pm.
Firefighters from Staveley and Clowne cut free the casualty who was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Both vehicles needed recovering and the road was closed until 10.15pm.
