Flasher traumatises schoolgirl in street

A flasher has struck in Watnall leaving an 11-year-old school girl ‘extremely distressed’, police say.
The man approached the girl and exposed himself as she walked through Watnall in the dark on Thursday January 24.
The incident comes after string of incidents where schoolgirls were flashed in Kimberley two months ago, but police say they are not linked.
Local beat officer Paul Toon said the girl was not harmed but was ‘extremely distressed by the encounter’.
“We have made enquiries in the local area and have increased patrols to deter any future incident and reassure the community,” said PC Toon.
“This is the only reported incident of this nature in recent times and we do not believe it is linked to the previous three incidents in the area in October and November last year.
“Our school liaison officers are working with the school and those in the vicinity to offer advice on security and child safety.
“Parents, teachers and guardians should ensure children in their care are familiar with the ‘stranger danger’ principle.”
Last October a group of 12-year-old girls were flashed in Kimberley’s Knowle Park and in November there were three more incidents in the town - one at Flixton Park, one outside The Kimberley School, and one reported by a woman jogging along Eastwood Road.
Police arrested a 40-year-old local man and he was bailed pending further inquiries.
The most recent incident happened in Chilton Drive at 8.20pm.
The man is described as white, wearing a grey cap, a dark khaki green coat, dark trousers and white trainers.
