Hard work pays off

Hard work has paid off for 69 people with disabilities from Nottinghamshire who are set to receive certificates for new skills and qualifications.

They are all part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s supported employment programme, which gives people with physical or learning disabilities meaningful work.

The courses were paid for by the council to help staff gain more skills for their current jobs and to help them be more employable in the open job market.

The certificates will be presented by councillors Kevin Rostance and Stuart Wallace, chair and vice chair of the adult social care and health committee at a special reception at county hall on October 2 at 11am.

They have been gained in a variety of subjects such as independent living, literacy and numeracy, horticulture and personal development.
