Hide away your presents

A Kimberley police officer has sent a warning out to residents about leaving presents on show in cars in the lead up to Christmas.

Dean Spalding said: “As Christmas time is fast approaching, if you buy presents please do not leave them on display, especially in motor vehicles.

“Historically we do see an increase of thefts from motor vehicles at this time of year, as thieves seek the opportunity to steal presents left on display.

“We are also having an increase in burglaries in Nuthall. So could you please also be on your guard, ensure that your property is always locked including when you are at home, and report anybody acting suspiciously to Nottinghamshire police by telephoning 101 or 999 if necessary.”
