The true extent of the abuse carried out by Jimmy Savile is now beginning to come to light — leaving the nation sick to the pit of its collective stomach.

Hundreds of victims have emerged as part of a police investigation that has uncovered shocking cases, including many who were attacked when the BBC big-hitter came to visit as they lay on their sick beds.

The sheer catalogue of cases, including seven in the East Midlands, is astounding with the abuses caried out over decades.

How did he get away with it for so long?

And how can he keep his Knighthood?
