Kimberley kids are swimming champions

Hollywell Primary School in Kimberley won an annual regional swimming competition for the first time in their history. Kids competed against other primary schools in the area and won seven races, including the relay, making them the overall winners.

Teacher Craig Chadwick said: “We are a particularly small school and it was a great achievement. The children are chuffed to bits.” Races included backstroke, freestyle and a one-length relay, and 18 pupils were chosen to represent the school.

Shields and trophies were presented in a special assembly. Our photos show youngsters with their prizes and boys’ team captain Guy Marshall with the victory shield.
