Kimberley pupils in TV workshops

FIVE pupils at Kimberley School have been selected for prestigious acting workshops in Nottigham.

Altogether 700 pupils from across the East Midlands auditioned for the Inspire workshops and of the 26 pupils that got through, five were from Kimberley School.

And one of the chosen pupils, Josh Broad, has already landed himself an acting role in a London play, called Stags and Hens.

Drama club teacher at the Kimberley School, Cynthia Edwards, said: "I'm really proud of them. I knew they were all really talented. The workshops are mostly geared towards television work and are a great stepping stone into acting."

The students will now attend the weekly workshops and take part in drama activities to improve on their acting. Different talent scouts go to the workshops and pick students out for auditions.

The casting director from hit E4 show 'Skins' was there earlier this month.

Luke Gell, who is director of Inspire and an actor in Two Pints of Langer and a Packet of Crisps, initially visited Kimberley School and picked 15 pupils to audition for the workshops.
