Lloyds branch to be taken over by Co-op

The Eastwood branch of Lloyds bank has been named as one of six across the county that will be taken over by the Co-op.

The branch, on Nottingham Road, will transfer to the Co-op after the two banks struck a deal.

More than 600 branches of Lloyds across the country will be taken over by the Co-op over the next few months in a deal worth £750m.

Peter Marks, group chief executive of the Co-operative Group, said: “This deal will deliver the biggest shake-up in high street banking in a generation.

“Consequently, it will be a great deal for customers, for the public, for UK banking generally and for The Co-operative Group, in particular.”
