Man smashed police windows

A man was arrested seconds after smashing several windows - at Chesterfield police station.

The 44-year-old had a short walk to custody when he was detained for criminal damage and public order offences at the Beetwell Street station at 10.20pm on Monday.

Police say he had made "abusive" calls to staff using the station telephone and was waiting to see an officer when he smashed the windows.
