Marie Curie charity in Kimberley launched the charity’s annual Blooming Great Tea Party campaign at Madhatters cafe in Main Street.

Staff at the charity are encouraging people to host a gathering of friends for afternoon tea or just a cuppa to raise some money for the cause.

Office manager Janette Martindale said as it is a special year with the Diamond Jubilee, people could even host a charity garden party.

The money raised at Blooming Great Tea Parties will allow Marie Curie nurses in Nottinghamshire to provide free care to people with terminal illnesses, enabling them to spend their final weeks in their own homes surrounded by their loved ones.

To hold a Blooming Great Tea Party and receive a free fundraising pack call 08700 340 040 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/teaparty.
