Mindless vandals wreck park

Local people reported border plants at Knowle Park being ripped up on three occasions over the Christmas and New year period, and police have called it ‘mindless vandalism’.

Pc Paul toon said: “It takes a long time to raise funding for that sort of thing. Thousands of pounds has been spent replacing all the equipment, and the plants were the finishing touch.

“It’s a great shame. These acts of mindless vandalism effect all residents and tax payers in the area.”

More than £50,000 was spent on replacing equipment on the park and making it look nice last summer, and the it was officially opened at the end of the year.

Kimberley Town Council is delivering letters to residents in the area to ask if they saw anything.
