Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry, in her new role as Junior Health Secretary, is urging people across Nottinghamshire to nominate NHS staff and volunteers as NHS Heroes.

The NHS Heroes scheme was launched on the 64th anniversary of the NHS in July this year to celebrate the hard work of staff across the organisation.

Residents have been invited to nominate individuals who have gone the extra mile to make sure that each and every patient receives the very best care.

From now until entries close on Friday September 21, anyone working for the NHS who is nominated by members of the public, patients or colleagues as going the extra mile in their work, will receive a recognition certificate.

Ms Soubry said: “So many NHS staff and volunteers go the extra mile to care for patients and it’s only right that their efforts are recognised.

“That is why NHS Heroes was launched and it is fantastic that more than 3,000 nominations have already been received. There is still time to enter and I would urge people across Nottinghamshire to nominate their own NHS Heroes by September 21.”
