MP to visit bread factory
Eastwood MP Gloria De Piero is visiting the town’s Warburtons factory today, Friday February 17.
Gloria will meet with Chris Palmer, the Eastwood Bakery General Manager, be given a guided tour of the bakery, meet staff and see first-hand how the bread is made by Eastwood staff.
The visit will give Warburtons staff the chance to raise any issues or concerns with their MP.
Originally the factory was based in Bolton but in the 1990s the business expanded and opened 13 new sites up and down the country, including one in Eastwood.
It has doubled in size in the last decade and employs over 365 locally at the Mushroom Farm site in Eastwood and over 4,500 people nationally.
