Museum to host mining event

As part of the Mining Remembered exhibition being held at Erewash Museum, there will be a one-day Mining Memories event on Saturday.

Visitors to the event can share their own memories and find out more about the mining industry.

Members of the Nottinghamshire Ex and Retired Miners Association will be at the event between 11am and 3pm to host a display.

Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, said: “The mining exhibition will be a fascinating insight into what was once one of the key sources of employment within Erewash. I know it will be of interest to countless people who have family connections going back many years to mining in this area.”

Call the museum on 0115 9071141 or visit www.erewashmuseum.co.uk for more information.
