A NATURE reserve in the grounds of a college is well on its way to being complete.
On Wednesday this week, pupils at Selston Arts and Community College finished the pond area of their new nature reserve.
Alternative curriculum co-ordinator Dave Entwistle who is heading up the project said it now just needed finishing touches.
“The meadow is sewn and the hedges are done so we are now really at the end of stage one.
“We just need the tables,” he said.
The college received lottery funding to turn an old farming area, used for teaching 30 years ago, into a nature reserve last year.
The pupils came up with the idea for the project and also the design.
There will be a pond, nesting boxes, a viewing area, picnic benches and tables, a meadow where there will be trees and wild flowers.
