Neighbours’ shock at news of street couple’s huge win
NEIGHBOURS of the lucky lottery couple have spoken to the Advertiser about their shock at hearing someone on their street had scooped a £45m fortune.
Beth Skelton, 16, of Ryecroft Street, Stapleford said: “I don’t know them but I know they live around here.
“I don’t know what I’d do if I won that amount of money, it’s loads.
“I’d buy a horse, get my own place, go on a mad shopping spree, take my mum and dad on a holiday, sort my family out. It’s so much money, I don’t really know what else.”
Jaye Farnsworth, 35, works in the nearby Sainsbury’s Local store.
She said: “I don’t know them personally but I’ve served them a few times.
“I can’t believe they went public, I think I’d keep it a secret.
“If I won that amount of money I’d buy anything and everything, you could, couldn’t you?”
Another Ryecroft Street resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard it was them.
“I just can’t imagine what they must have been thinking when they saw the numbers.
“I say good luck to them, it’s a lot of money to have just like that, I just hope they cope with it all.”
