New pet shop opens

A NEW pet superstore was opened in town on Saturday.

Chambers Pet Supplies moved to their new shop, at the old Factory nightclub, after a £60,000 revamp.

The Bath Street store will sell the firm’s own brand pet food and other animal accessories as well as offering rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish and reptiles for sale.

The store’s owner Gavin Chambers said: “We’re really passionate about Bath Street and we want to see Ilkeston do well and this will hopefully give the town a bit of a boost.

“Local people have supported us and we want to offer something back.”

Chambers Pet Supplies is sponsoring the Advertiser’s Pets on Parade competition, a search to find the town’s cutest pet.

The closing date for entries is today.

Photographs of shortlisted pets will be in next week’s paper for readers to vote on their favourites.
