editorial image

Broxtowe’s new youth mayor and deputy youth mayor made their first public appearances at this week’s Broxtowe Borough Council meeting.

It was the pair’s first council meeting since they were elected last month.

Adam Stockwell, 15, from George Spencer School, Stapleford, was elected the new Broxtowe Youth Mayor, taking over from Tilly Stone, who handed over the chain.

And for the first-time ever, Broxtowe Youth Council now has a Deputy Mayor, 16-year old Leigh Alder from Bramcote Park School, Bramcote.

At the meeting, Adam and Leigh met the Mayor of Broxtowe, Cllr Margaret Handley.
