Rain cancels Party on the Rec’

The annual Party on the Rec’, which was due to take place on Saturday, has been cancelled.

Organiser Kurt Whitten said he was ‘gutted’ that rain had cancelled the event for the first time in its six-year history.

He said it is unlikely it will be rescheduled.

Last year it attracted 6,500 people.
