Reader captures dramatic horse rescue on film

Advertsier reader Steve Adams sent in these photographs of a horse being rescued by fire crews from the canal at Shipley.

Steve said: “I was cycling along the Erewash canal at Shipley when I spotted the horse in the water.

“I don’t have amobile phone so I went to find someone who did and we called the emergency services.

“The fire service arrived and managed to get the horse out of the water, it was great work all round.”

Crews from Eastwood and a specialist rescue unit from Highfields responded to the call that came in at around 7.30am on Sunday.
