Situated above Moorgreen Reservoir in High park Wood, Robin Hood’s well was used by Lawrence as his model for ‘John’s well’ in the controversial book, Lady Chatterleys’ Lover’.

This postcard was in the ‘Peveril’ series, and was posted from Nottingham in August 1911.

The picture appeared in the book Eastwood: On old picture postcards, by David Ottewell.
