Spate of burglaries hits town

Burglars have broken into properties in Kimberley and Nuthall over the last week.

A car was stolen from Flixton Road, Kimberley after burglars got in the house and stole the keys, and intruders got into two houses in Horsendale Avenue and Arnos Grove in Nuthall.

In the first incident in Nuthall a door at the back of the property was smashed and jewellery was taken from inside and at Arnos Grove burglars got in through an open window and searched the house, but nothing was taken.

Beat officer Lara Holbrook said: “This is a timely reminder to review security. The crime rate in the area is still at a low level but it’s no time to become complacent with personal security. Doors and windows should be locked and items of value, such as laptops, cameras, handbags, keys and wallets should no be in view of windows.”

The burglaries happened between October 19 and October 22. If you saw anything ring 101 and for crime prevention advice call 07525989434.
