Teacher retires after 40 years

A Moorgreen teacher who has spent 40 years working in schools across the area has retired.

Caroline Winfield was a pupil at Greasley Beauvale Infant and Junior School in the 1950’s.

She left Walker Street School, Eastwood in 1967 and studied A levels at Beeston College.

After three years Teacher Training at Bath College Caroline began her teaching her career in South Derbyshire before taking up a number of roles across Nottinghamshire.

During her 40 years in the classroom Caroline spent time working at both Kimberley and Eastwood Comprehensive schools.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to having time to follow my interests of gardening, walking and crafts, and having time to catch up with old friends.”

Colleagues, pupils and staff from George Spencer School in Stapleford, where she worked for 11 years presented her with cards and gifts to mark her retirement.
