Temporary building for centre
NEAA 19-06-12 BE 10 Eastwood health clinic, Nottingham Road, Eastwood.
Eastwood Health Centre will transfer to a temporary building while care trust bosses seek planning permission to build a brand new centre.
Services will be delivered from the a temporary two-storey building, at the current site in Nottingham Road, for three years.
The current health centre building is ‘no longer fit for purpose and beyond economic repair’, NHS Nottinghamshire County has said.
Plans for new ‘bespoke accommodation’ to replace the current facility are in the early stages of development, but it is thought a new building will not be ready until 2015.
A spokesman for NHS Nottinghamshire County said: “Our priority is to ensure that patients receive health services in fit-for-purpose facilities.
“Eastwood Clinic no longer meets a number of important requirements. We are pleased that plans are moving forward for temporary health service accommodation on the existing Eastwood Clinic site.
“We would like to reassure patients that the current range of services will continue.”
