Great Britain and Northern Ireland competed in the 1952 Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland.

Athletes won one gold medal, two silver medals and eight bronze medals.

In the music world, the first ever singles chart was produced by NME magazine. Al Martino’s ‘Here In My Heart’ was the bigggest selling song.
